Slain Divisional Commander's hideout busted | | | Early Times Report Kulgam, June 28: Kulgam police and 62 RR in a joint operation on Thursday have busted slain divisional commander's hideout in South Kashmir's Peerpanjal range and have recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition. "Operation was jointly launched by 62RR and Police after we received a specific input, acting on the input we have succeeded in busting the hideout at Daganmarg Kongtwan, a forest area of Peerpanjal Range Kulgam" SP Kulgam, Mohd Shafi said, adding that a huge cache of arms and ammunition has recovered from the busted hideout. Police believes that the hideout was being used by HM's Slain Divisional Commander, Aadil, who was killed in 2010 in an encounter at Tangmarg. "Aadil, Divisional commander of HM was active in the area far about three years and we were receiving the input about his presence in the area through different modes so I think this was the hideout we were searching for." SP said, adding that surerly the hideout was being used by him. Giving details about the recovered armus and ammunition he said, " 1AK 56, 3 Magazines, 749 rounds, 2 Chinese pistol, 2 magazines, 7 rounds explosive material 6 kg, UBGL 1, 2 Israellie hand grenade, 1 electric detector, and one pouch has been recovered." Commanding Officer 62RR, Vikas Batra said, "There are still militant activities in the Peerpanjal range and we are continuously trying to crush them. |
