| SVO registers six including then ZEO | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jun 28 : State Vigilance Organization (SVO) today registered case against six persons including the then Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) for their alleged involvement regarding fraudulent withdrawal of Rs. 3.6 lakh showing construction of six kitchen sheds.
According to SVO spokesperson the following the complaints a case was registered in this regard and investigation was started. During the preliminary investigation a case under FIR No 9/2012 at P/S Vigilance Organization Jammu was registered against Ch Mohammad Latief, the then Zonal Education Officer, Mendhar, Zulufqar Ali, Junior Engineer, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Mendhar, Mohd Shabir, Mohd Taj, Mohd Wazir, Mohd Sharief & Lal Hussain (Contractors) u/s 5(1)(d) r/w Section 5(2) of J&K P.C. Act, 2006 and Section 120-B of RPC regarding fraudulent withdrawal of Rs. 3.6 lakh showing construction of six kitchen sheds during the year 2009-10 in six schools.
"The said accused conspired and showed constructions of kitchen sheds at six schools namely Primary School Tajuwalla, Katrian Patha nateer, Dhani Peer, UPS Naker, Garanabana and Boys Middle School Chatral whereas verification has revealed that these six kitchen sheds at aforesaid school premises were actually not constructed, the spokesperson disclosed further adding, "this has resulted in loss to the state exchequer and corresponding wrongful gain to the above mentioned accused persons." He also added that investigation of the case is in progress. |
