HC directs Chairman MBS College to entertain form of petitioner | Admission to BE against minority quota | | Jammu, June 28 (JNF) : In a petition filed by an aspirant of Bachelor of Engineering Course against minority quota in Mahant Bachittar Singh College of Engineering and Technology, Vacation Judge of J&K High Court Jammu Wing Justice JP Singh today issued notice to the State through Chief Secretary, BOPEE through its Secretary and Chairman Mahant Bachittar Singh College of Engineering and Technology for their response in the matter. Court after hearing Adv Sheikh Shakeel Ahmed appearing for the petitioner directed Chairman Mahant Bachittar Singh College of Engineering and Technology to entertain the petitioner's application form for taking the entrance test to Bachelor of Engineering Course under minority quota. Court further directed that the admit card shall, however, be issued only after production of 10+2 pass certificate in mathematics. The petitioner Ramneek Kour in her petition submitted that her simpliciter case is that her result of additional subject of Mathematics will be out in the month of July, 2012 and in the same month, the entrance test for minority quota seats will be conducted by BOPEE and the petitioner undertakes that in case she failed to produce the marksheet of 10+2 with mathematics at the time of the issuance of the admit card and in that eventuality she will not be pressing for any relief from the respondents as well as from the Court. Justice JP Singh after considering the submissions made at the bar came to rescue of the petitioner and issued interim directions to the respondent College to entertain petitioner's application form for taking the entrance test to BE Course under minority quota. |
