Krishna urges Rahul join govt to help it solve problems | Bankrupt Ministry ? | | RUSTAM JAMMU, June 28: S M Krishna, who has been again and again letting down India at international forums and making a mockery of himself and the crucial ministry that he heads ever since he took over as Foreign Minister in 2009, on Wednesday strongly pitched for AICC general secretary and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi's son, Rahul Gandhi, entry into the Union Council of Ministers, suggesting it has become "necessary" to help the government "in solving the problems faced by the country". "We have always wanted Rahul Gandhi's involvement in the government. The Prime Minister's invitation is there to join the government but he himself seems to be not inclined at the moment…I am one of those who feel that it is necessary for Rahul Gandhi to come into the government and help the government in solving the problems that we face as a country," Krishna said in an interaction with journalists. Rahul disappeared from the national scene after the 2012 assembly elections in five states, including UP and resurfaced only today. He accompanied former Finance Minister Pranab Mukharjee to the Rajya Sabha where the latter filed his papers as a UPA candidate for the office of President of India. The suggestion of Krishna -- who doesn't mind snubbing and insulting such senior officials as the Union Home Secretary to please Pakistan and who shamelessly allows his Pakistani counterpart to compare the Union Home Secretary with Lashkar-e-Toiba/Jamaat-ud-Dawa chief and mastermind of the 26/11 dreaded terror attacks on the financial capital of India, Mumbai, Hafiz Saeed - indicates that there is none in the otherwise huge Union Council of Ministers who is competent enough to solve the problems India has been facing. He is not completely wrong. He only speaks the truth when he on behalf of the Union Council of Ministers raises his hands, acknowledges that the Government of India has utterly failed the country by not tackling the problems it has been facing and seeks support of persons like Rahul Gandhi so that the government could deliver. Besides, his suggestion vindicated those who had always dismissed Krishna as a "sycophant", as someone who "owes his rise" to the Gandhi family. Krishna is one person, who like Union Home Minister P Chidambaram and Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, believes that Jammu & Kashmir State has only acceded to India and not merged with it. It may be recalled that it was Krishna and Chidambaram who had sided with Omar Abdullah when his October 6, 2010 assembly statement that the state had only acceded and not merged with India had created a sort of furore across the country. Now that the "failed" foreign minister has pitched for Rahul's entry into the Union Council of Ministers, it is imperative to find if Sonia's son can really help the Union Government solve the country's problems. Even a naïve would vouch for the fact that Rahul has failed to take off despite the fact that the entire government and the Congress party have been at his back and call, particularly since 2004. The Union Government and the Congress party are the fiefdoms of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. They constitute the high command and they have been using the over 120-year-old Kimberley clause in order to put their men at right places so that they rule over the country from outside. They are not accountable to any institution. It is Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his incompetent, even "corrupt" ministry, who are constitutionally accountable to the people and Parliament. It is a different story that they have little or no regard for them and that they are actually accountable to Sonia Gandhi, and even Rahul Gandhi. To term the Congress party as Indian National Congress would a misnomer. The fact of the matter is that Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi have been controlling and guiding the Union Government and ruling the country since May 2004, when the Congress captured about 150 seats in the Parliament by default and formed UPA Government. They speak only rarely because they do not know what to speak. They just read out from the prepared statements. Their statements are prepared by someone else. Sonia Gandhi has perhaps not even once spoken in the Lok Sabha. Similar is the story of Rahul Gandhi, who not only reads out the prepared statements but also rarely attends the Lok Sabha. Neither Sonia Gandhi nor Rahul Gandhi is a vote catcher. They are not assets for the party. They are neither politicians nor administrators. In fact, they have not only rendered the Congress ineffective, but have also conducted themselves in a fashion that has only ruined India politically, economically and socially. Even the party workers in private ridicule Sonia and Rahul and accuse them of "destroying the party and the country". So much so, they have described the Krishna's suggestion as "a joke of the year".
