Fire destroys NC leader's college in Bandipora Fire destroys NC leader's college in Bandipora | PDP demands enquiry into the incident | | early times report Srinagar, June 28: In a devastating fire that broke out in a private college in Bandipora town in North Kashmir, the college building was completely gutted, however, the cause of fire could not be ascertained. A major fire broke out at Mehboobul Allam College owned by a local National Conference leader Muhammad Ismail Ashiana here in north Kashmir on Thursday which caused complete damage to the college building. Reporters reaching here suggest that fire erupted form the Higher Secondary portion of the building and engulfed buildings of Mehboobul Allam College and Model school. Though fire tenders immediately rushed to the spot but the building could not be saved as the fire has till then engulfed the building completely. "Meanwhile PDP leader and MLA Bandipora Nizamuddin Bhat has demanded a probe into the incident to ascertain the truth. "whether it was an accidental fir or somebody has played mischief , the facts should come to the fore, government should order a probe into it as one could not rule out mischief" Bhat told Early Times. However officials said the fire presumably occurred due to gas leak, while the actual cause was being ascertained. "Due to short circuit bushes of some trees along the wall had caught fire but we managed to extinguish it on time," the officials said.
