| BMD, audiometry camp at Sarwal Hospital | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 29: Bone Mass Density (BMD) Camp and Pure Tone Audiometry (PTA) Test was organized at government hospital Sarwal here today. It was a free camp where more than 70 clients were screened by BMD machine and further advised by senior Orthopaedician Dr.Vijay Sabharwal and A-Grade Orthopaedician Dr Rajneesh Anand of Sarwal Hospital Jammu.
Audiometry was also done on 10 patients and advised further by ENT Specialist Dr Rajive Sharma.
Dr Arun Sharma medical superintendent Government Hospital Sarwal Jammu along with other senior Doctors and other paramedical staff were present to initiate the Camp. Medical Superintendent said that BMD is a routine camp held every month and Audimetry done every friday and the patients and public should take benefit of it to maximum.
Computerized BMD machine has been brought from outside J&K and by placing the probe on leg bone scan is done and a computerized report is generated. JK Electronics Ears, Prime Speech and Hearing Clinic have offered their free Audiometry services on every Friday. A BONE MINERAL DENSITY (BMD) test measures how much calcium and other types of minerals are present in a section of our bone.
The health care provider uses this test, along with other risk factors, to predict the risk of bone fractures in the future. Bone fracture risk is highest in people with osteoporosis. |
