KISHTWAR, June 29: Even after 9 days of the arrest of main accused Parvaiz Iqbal Tak allegedly involved in disappearance case of Bollywood starlet Laila Khan and her family, ATS Mumbai and Maharashtra police are yet to proceed on the leads.
Tak claims that the actress has married the son of close aide of underworld Don Dawood Ibrahim and fled the country on fake passport. Kishtwar police in the meantime produced the main accused Parvaiz Tak before Munsiff Judge Kishtwar on Wednesday night for extension in police remand which was accordingly extended by 8 days.
Kishtwar police under the cover of darkness produced Tak before Munsiff Judge Kishtwar at his residence, who extended his police custody by 8 more days. Kishtwar police which is probing case of recovery of Laila Khan's luxurious Outlander vehicle from Kishtwar is under lot of pressure after interrogation of accused Parvaiz Iqbal Tak revealed missing actress's links with underworld.
Even though Kishtwar police claims that they are not probing Laila Khan's disappearance case, but due to emerging of terror and underworld link in the case, Kishtwar police on account of the national security is probing the case from all possible angles including terror and crime.
As per the recent statement of DySP Kishtwar, Abrar Ahmed Chowdhary, Kishtwar police has informed the Maharashtra police and Anti-Terrorist Squad Mumbai about the arrest of Parvaiz Iqbal Tak but neither ATS Mumbai nor Maharashtra police turned up to take the legal custody of Parvaiz Iqbal Tak wanted by Ohshiwara police in connection with actress missing case.
Kishtwar police is banking on Maharashtra police and ATS Mumbai for further course of investigation into the case, but delay in arrival of team of ATS Mumbai and Maharashtra Police shows the callous attitude of prime terror probing agency that is unmoved in probing the possible links of actress Laila Khan with Underworld Don Dawood Ibrahim and his men.
If statements of main accused Parvaiz Iqbal Tak could be believed, Laila Khan married to Sonu alias Wufi Khan who is the son of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim's close aide Kamal Yadwani. Kishtwar police though feels that Tak's statement could be misleading, but said that nothing could be ruled out. Police in Kishtwar reportedly suggested ATS Mumbai and Maharashtra police to initiate process for lie detective test of the accused Tak, so that the authenticity of the claims made by the accused Parvaiz Iqbal Tak could be checked.
"We have no instrument to check authenticity of some disclosers made by Tak during his interrogation--- what we can do is only to share it with ATS Mumbai and Maharashtra police who are the main agencies probing the case of missing Bollywood starlet Laila Khan and her family," said officials in Jammu and Kashmir police. Sources said that Kishtwar police does not require the custody of Parvaiz Iqbal Tak anymore, but keeping in view establishment of terror and underworld link in the case, Kishtwar police insisted for 8 days more remand of the accused from court which was accordingly granted in favour of Kishtwar police.
Sources said that in case the ATS Mumbai or Maharashtra police did not come, Kishtwar police will be left with no other option but not to object the bail plea of the accused in case the family members applied for it. Sources further said that ATS Mumbai and Maharashtra police has presently shifted all its focus on custody of Syed Zabiuddin Ansari alias Abu Jindal, arrested by Delhi police few days ago.
