| 108 schemes sanctioned under PMGSY: Charak | | | Jammu, Feb 1
Minister for Roads & Buildings Mr. Gulchain Singh Charak in reply to a question by Mr. Yash Pal Kundal said that 108 schemes costing Rs 144.44 crore stand sanctioned since January 2006 till date under PMGSY.
He said that PMGSY schemes approved under phase III stand already allotted and works are in progress. However, contract in respect of most of the phase IV stand already allotted whileas in number of cases re-tendering has been done to achieve competition and good quality work, he added.
He said out of 110 schemes being executed under double shift scheme, 20 schemes have been completed and 61 schemes are nearing completion as on date.
Mr. Harsh Dev Singh, Mr. A. R.Veeri and Mr. Abdul Majid Wani raised supplementaries.
In reply to another question by Mir Zahoor Ahmad, the Minister said that there is need for construction of a foot-bridge at Gooripora in Pampore constituency and decision has been taken in board meeting to construct the bridge. Rs 50 lakh stand released for the same, he added.
He said the tenders stand floated and work shall be taken up shortly after approval to the fixation of the contract.
