JKDF protests against increasing unemployment

JAMMU, June 30: Continuing tirade against state govern ment's failure to formulate effective policy on employment and growing frustration among youth of the state, Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Front (JKDF) youth wing today held a massive protest demonstration outside Governor House. The protest was held on the directions of Chairman Anil Gupta. Protest demonstration was led by District Vice-President Krishan Kapoor in the presence of youth wing President Munish Khajuria, Vijay Kumar and Aman Sharma. Anil Gupta reiterated that the youth of Jammu are being discriminated and denied their just demands. Despite being highly educated, Jammu youths are being left out from selection lists of SSRB and JKPSC. JKDF leaders said that resentment among youth shall take ugly turn if the situation is not handled timely. "We demand announcement of Rs. 2000 per month allowance for unemployed youth till they are absorbed into the jobs," said Gupta. To highlight demand of unemployed youth, JKDF is holding the series of protests in different zones of Jammu through its youth wing led by Munish Khajuria (President Youth wing). Earlier today, hundreds of activists of JKDF gathered near Governor House to protest in favour of demands of unemployed youths who are deprived of their rights to get equal opportunities of earning their livelihood.
Protestors burnt effigy of state government to express their resentment with the policies of Government. Munish Khajuria while speaking to media said, "Militants and Stone pelters are being given jobs in the name of rehabilitation, but nationalist youth of Jammu are being deprived of their rights and equal opportunities in state government jobs. We will not tolerate the injustice being meted to our youth and fight for our reasonable demands till they are being fulfilled."Prominent youth workers who took part in the protest are Jyoti Dogra, Ravi Mehra, Virender Singh, Ankush Sharma, Rohit Kerni, Abhishek Slathia Vijay Kumar, Ajay Sharma, Vikram Sharma, Manik Seth, Kamal Sharma, Om Prakash, Varun Gupta, Vicky Choudhary, Arun Kumar and Ashutosh Sharma.
