Kishtwar being ignored in tourism sphere: Sheikh Nasir

KISHTWAR, June 30: Former DYC president and member PCC, Sheikh Nasir Hussain Advocate has alleged that Kishtwar is being ignored by government in tourism sphere.In a statement issued to press, local Congress leader has said that there are so many sites which can be the best Tourism destinations, but the successive governments have shown no interests to develop them. While criticizing local representatives, Sheikh Nasir has alleged that due to lack of vision, they too have failed to boost the tourism of the area.
He has said that Sinthan, Warwan, and other places in the district can be the key attractions for tourists but due to lack of facilities and road connectivity they are un identified. While praising former CM Ghulam Nabi Azad for developing Bhaderwah as a tourism destination, Sheikh Nasir has said that Kishtwar too has potential equal to Bhaderwah but due to lack of concern people are unaware about the same.
He has also criticized the Kishtwar Development Authority (KDA) for its failure to boost the tourism and creation of the amenities in the area for the tourists. He has appealed the government and the minister for Tourism to take the appropriate steps and make the area a popular tourist destination and an attractive place for tourist and shooting of films and serials. He has also appealed that efforts be made to develop better road facilities at all tourist destinations, and also adopt special marketing strategies like advertisements in newspapers and magazines highlighting the immense tourism possibilities in Kishtwar.
