Coalition has empowered people: Rana | | | Early Times Report MENDHAR, June 30: State coalition government under the leadership of Omar Abdullah is committed to the welfare of the people of the state with special focus on those living in far flung, remote areas. This was stated by Political Advisor to the Chief Minister Davinder Rana while addressing workers meetings at Manjakote and Mendhar on the third day of his tour to the twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch. Rana said the state government in the last three years have empowered the people and given them the right to know and the right to question in the quest to bring transparency and accountability in the system. He said, "Omar led dispensation has energized the State Accountability Commission, constituted State Information Commission, enacted legislation for Vigilance Commission and brought in historic legislation of Public Service Guarantee Act", he said adding that this clearly vindicates the seriousness of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to curb the menace of corruption and bring transparency in functioning of the administration. Highlighting the effectiveness of Public Service Guarantee Act, Rana said this Act empowered the people to get public service in a time bound manner. Rana said the government's concern was employment and employability and the government was addressing both through creating avenues of employment as also focusing on skill development to ensure that the youth of the state are employable. Addressing the public meetings at these places Mushtaq Ahmed Bukhari Vice Chairman Advisory Board for Pahari Speaking People (BoPSP) and Javed Rana MLC said the state government has chalked out a comprehensive plan for the overall development of the state especially of remote and far flung areas. |
