It happens only in JK: Teachers decreasing while students increase
State running short of 2167 lecturers, 1012 masters, 5424 teachers

Students in the government schools are suffering a lot due to non-availability of the teaching staff despite tall claims of improving the standard of the education in the government run schools.
At present around 2167 posts of lecturers, 1012 posts of masters and 5424 teachers are lying vacant across the state and this has caused an immense shortage of staff in the education department.
With the increase in the population, the teaching as well as the non-teaching staff, which was supposed to increase has declined considerably. These figures speak themselves about the sincerity with which the state government is making endeavours towards the upliftment of educational standards among the students belonging to middle and lower classes.
According to the information tabled in the state assembly, the Higher Secondary education of district Baramullah is the worst affected, as there are 310 posts of lecturers of lying vacant along with shortage of 41 masters and 532 teachers.
Similarly, in district Anantnag alone 287 posts of lecturers are lying vacant apart from 35 seats of masters and 571 seats of teachers unfulfilled. Likewise in Doda district 272 posts of lecturers have not been fulfilled yet besides 200 masters and 365 posts of teachers.
It is the same tragedy with the Pulwama District where 233 posts of lecturers are kept vacant besides 373 teachers and 9 masters.
In Srinagar District there are 61 unfulfilled seats of lecturers along with 15 seats of masters and 500 seats of teachers.
In the same way Budgam district is left with 122 vacant posts of lecturers and 508 posts of the teachers. Kupwara district is suffering a shortage from unfulfilled seats of 154 lecturers, 72 master and 179 teachers in its different schools.
The report tabled in the assembly said that in Jammu District, there are around 120 vacant posts of lecturers along with 60 posts of master and 607 posts of teachers lying unoccupied.
In Kathua district, 77 posts of lecturers, 59 posts of masters as well as 610 posts of teachers are lying vacant for the last many years. Udhampur district is also no exception to the rule, as there are 244 posts of lecturers, 254 posts of masters and 489 posts of teachers are lying unoccupied too.
In Poonch district, 109 posts of lecturers are unoccupied besides posts of 225 teachers and some masters are lying vacant for the last many years. Similarly in the Rajouri District 178 posts of lecturers are unoccupied besides 263 posts of masters and 465 posts of teachers are not fulfilled yet.
