Early Times Report
Jammu, July 1 : Workers of east mandal today staged protest against interlocutors report saying they have failed to address the issues related to the Jammu region.
They also burnt the pre drafted copies of the report. They started rally from City chowk to Sabzi mandi. The protest was led by District President Rajesh Gupta & Yudhvir Sethi BJP State secretary, the party activists were carrying placards with slogans demanding rejection of the report. Addressing party activists, Rajesh Expressed disappointment over the interlocutors' report on Jammu and Kashmir, the BJP workers Gupta said that the Dalip Padgaonkar led team of interlocutors has submitted the report on Jammu and Kashmir which, instead of suggesting some fruitful ways and means, has tried to create confusion in the minds of people.
They again want elected Sadar-e-Riyasat (Governor), revocation of Article 356 and related provisions, strengthening of the Constitution of Jammu & Kashmir besides supremacy of State's Administrative Services, demilitarization of civilian areas and revocation of AFSPA. One cannot understand if dozens of other states of Republic of India, which do not enjoy special status. Without Section 370 which shows the dual character of the people - state subjects as well as Indian citizens.
Yudhvir Sethi said in his address that the final report of the Central government appointed Interlocutors has ruled out a return to the pre-1953 position, but recommended the setting up of a Constitutional Committee (CC), to review all Central Acts and Articles of the Constitution of India, extended to the State after the signing of the 1952 Agreement.
The report made several recommendations to harmonize relations between people on both the sides of Line of Control, including a hassle-free movement of people and goods across the LoC, and a consultative mechanism, where elected representatives from both sides can deliberate on issues of common interests like water, economy, tourism and trade.
This shows Interlocutors are only the rubber stamp to promote the agenda of separatists. why they have given importance to Hurriyat? What about Migrant Kashmiri Pandits, ,refugees & minorities living in J&K?
