Rajendra reviews Law, Order scenario, yatra arrangements

JAMMU, July 2: The Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar has called for greater synergy among the law enforcing agencies to ensure sustained peace in the state. He has asked for an effective mechanism and planning for dealing the situations effectively.
This was stated by DGP while chairing a high level meeting held at Police Headquarters (PHQ) here this morning, convened to take stock of law and order and security scenario in Jammu Division.
Addressing the meeting, Rajendra stressed upon the officers to enhance coordination among the law enforcing agencies and ensure sustained peace in the entire Province. He asked for maintaining constant vigil on the activities of anti-national elements and trouble makers to mount pressure and curb their ill designs. He said that such elements are always trying to find an opportunity for disturbing the peaceful atmosphere of the state.
The high level meeting also discussed ongoing Shri Amarnathji Yatra security arrangements made for smooth conduct of pilgrimage.
The officers present in the meeting apprised the DGP about the efforts made for the security and convenience of the yatries in Jammu.
He was told that yatra is running smoothly and all security and other arrangements are continuing in coordination with the other agencies related to yatra.
Rajendra expressed his satisfaction over the arrangements and stressed upon the officers present in the meeting to supervise the arrangements personally to implement the instructions issued earlier for smooth conduct of the yatra. He also enquired about the performance of joint control rooms and the meetings of different agencies to maintain coordination.
Expressing his satisfaction over law and order and security in the Province, the DGP said that Jammu and Kashmir Police with the cooperation of people have always succeeded in foiling the ill designs of bad elements and the force has to continue its efforts to provide better policing by curbing the activities of criminals.
He said that the people friendly attitude of the force has helped us to yield desired results in our fight against crimes.Appreciating the role of cops in maintaining peace in the state, the DGP said that the force and other security agencies faced many situations during the previous years but due to the close coordination among the agencies and the whole hearted support of public, the force over came these situations with courage and fortitude.
He expressed his hope that the forces working in the state would keep their morale high and continue their efforts to serve the people in a better way.
He said that our sole motive should be to ensure security of the people and to prevail lasting peace in the state.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Inspectors General of Police, Dilbag Singh, Dr. B. Srinivas and Gulzar Singh Salathia, Deputy Inspectors General of Police, Jagjit Kumar, J. P. Singh, Garib Dass, Surinder Gupta and Johney William, Commandants of Armed and IRP battalions of Jammu Zone and other police officers.
