2/1/2007 10:21:26 PM
Jammu, Feb 01
Amid uproar and pandemonium main Opposition National Conference members today staged walk out from the legislative assembly for not getting `satisfactory reply’ about the details of expenditure under Plan sector and Prime Minister’s reconstruction programme and while leveling serious allegations on government for misleading the House about the exact allocations received on these accounts over last four years.
Members from opposition were on their feet’s after Minister of State Prem Sagar Aziz `failed to satisfy’ Ali Mohammad Sagar who, during question Hour has sought details about the funds and their expenditure received under plan sector and Prime Minister’s Reconstruction Programme since 2002-06.
Prem Sagar Aziz in his reply said that only Rupees 10, 030. 66 crore has been made available to state sector during 2002-06 excluding the amount of Rs 1151.39 provided on account of Prime Minister’s Re-construction plan, evoking strong protest from opposition who alleged that the figure is far less keeping in view the budget allocations received by the state over these years.
Opposition Leader while making a scathing attack said that the government has misled the House about the plan sector allocations received by it over these years. He said the accumulative sum for these years amounts about Rs 18000 crores.
Ali Mohammad Sagar accused the government of misappropriating the sum, while other members including Mir Saifulla, Kafeel-ul Rehman, Sharif –u-din Shariq and Kesar Jamshed Loan supported his demand of deferring the question.
During the uproar, Speaker made repeated attempts to calm the protesting members and even told them to submit a notice to him for holding half an hour discussion on the matter. His repeated pleas however, failed to restore order in the House.
After speaker turns down the demand all opposition NC members staged a walk out to register their protest.
