| Div Com reviews NBCC, ERA projects | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 2 : Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Pardeep Gupta, today convened an officers meeting to review the progress of various development works being executed by NBCC and ERA in Jammu city.
Threadbare discussion was held on further streamlining the functioning of these executing agencies for timely and quality completion of ongoing development projects.
Besides, strategies to remove certain bottlenecks hampering smooth execution of these projects were also deliberated upon. The Divisional Commissioner asked the executing agencies to complete the ongoing works in a time bound manner.
He asked them to work in close synergy with other concerned so that these vital public utility works should not be delayed due to lack of coordination at any level.
Sr. General Manager, Hem Raj, gave a detailed power point presentation on the status of sewerage projects including impediments in the execution of various projects. He informed the meeting about the status of progress on 2nd Tawi Bridge to Qasim Nagar, Ravera Hotel to Jewel Chowk, J. P. Chowk to Jewel Chowk, Gumat Chowk, PeerMitha to Peerkhow, Gujjar Nagar to 2nd Tawi Bridge, Hanuman Mandir to Pahardian Mohalla Nullah, etc.It was informed in the meeting that NBCC has completed 92% work on 27 MLD Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) whereas out of 26.53 km Trunk Sewer, 22.13 km has been completed so far. Out of 90.74 km of laterals Sewer work, 32.88 km (36.24%) km work has also been completed. Besides, of 41 Sub packages (works) being taken by ERA under Urban Sector Jammu at an estimated completion cost of Rs. 363 crore, 38 works have been completed with an expenditure of Rs. 352 crore upto ending June 2012.
The progress on sewerage works being executed by ERA was also discussed in the meeting.
Divisional Commissioner also reviewed the progress and achievements under various sectors like Tube Wells, OHTs & GLSRAS, Boria Intake-1.8 MGD, Water Supply- Pipe Laying, Horizontal Centrifugal Pump, Augmentation of 33/11 KV Receiving Station in Jammu, Drainage, Public Toilets, Equipment & Vehicles, etc.
MLA Jammu West Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta besides District Development Commissioner Jammu Sanjeev Verma, Chief Engineer Irrigation & Flood Control Ashwani Kumar Sharma, SE PWD P. L. Bhushan, SE PHE V. K. Luthra, SE UEED Prem Nath, SE ERA S. L. Kapoor, Senior General Manager NBCC Hem Raj, XEN PHE Ashok Gandotra, XEN UEED Rajesh Khajuria, and other senior officers of various department were present in the meeting. |
