| Dy CM reviews progress of Jammu city sewerage projects | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 2 : Underscoring on the need to complete development works with in stipulated time frame, Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand exhorted upon executing agencies to work in close coordination and redouble efforts to finish the ambitious sewerage projects undertaken in Jammu city. He said work schedules should be strictly followed and those sites where work has been completed debris should be immediately cleared, to avoid any undue inconvenience to the common public.
"Prestigious urban development projects are under various stages of execution in the city and it is duty of all the concerned departments to ensure that people of the city are put to minimum inconvenience", he stressed. Tara Chand was addressing a high level review meeting of officers from JDA, JMC, PHE, PWD, PDD, Traffic, NBCC, ERA and UEED to review the progress and pace of sewerage projects executed by NBCC, ERA in different parts of Jammu city, here today.
During the meeting, threadbare discussions were held on different sewerage projects, flyover project, augmentation of water supply and potable water resources, redevelopment of Tube Wells, and widening of city roads. Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Pradeep Gupta, District Development Commissioner, Jammu Sanjeev Verma, Chief Engineer, PHE, PDD and senior officers and engineers from line departments attended the meeting. Describing quality of material and coordination among executing agencies as important factors for timely completion of the projects, the Deputy Chief Minister directed the officers for ensuring use of quality material in the construction work and called for preparing work schedules by consultation among the agencies.
Sticking to the schedule avoids undue delays and saves time and money, he added.He directed SE, UEED to act as Nodal officer for coordination among the executing agencies, so that all agencies work in unison and full cooperation is ensured at various construction sites of sewerage works. NBCC and ERA authorities gave a power point presentation and detailed about the progress of various projects undertaken in the Jammu city.
He cautioned the executing authorities that no delay would be tolerated and called for maintaining a proper calendar for all the undertaken works. |
