Bhardwaj and Daya Sagar Sharma visited Shri Amarnath Yatri Niyas Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu to take stock of the arrangements made for the comfort of Amarnath Yatries. On seeing inadequate arrangement made for yatries at Yatri Niyas the JPPF team felt profound dismay . The team observed that there was no proper sanitation, cleanliness arrangement in Yatri Niyas and in the surrounding area. The team also observed that a Langar party from Punjab which has been holding Langar for yatries for the last 14 years at Yatri Niyas is facing cooking gas problem. The organisers of Langar are asked to purchase commercial cooking gas cylinders instead of domestic gas cylinders. The JPPF team also observed that bedding arrangement was shabby and there is no arrangement for washing of bedding. The team also visited medical dispensary and found inadequate stock of medicines. The team later donated 100 injections of Lasix to the dispensary. JPPF demands the government to provide subsidised gas cylinders to the Langar party because they are not doing any business but providing free facility to yatries. JPPF also demanded provision of fresh and clean bedding besides installation of washing unit for bedding material. Adequate medicines stock in dispensary and proper sanitation in the area is also demanded. The team members vowed to visit Yatri Niyas again this week-end to ascertain the arrangement and asked the government till then complete all deficiencies relating to facilities to yatries at Yatri Niyas. JPPF threatened to launch agitation if facilities for yatries at Yatri Niyas are not augmented till this week-end. |
