7/2/2012 10:49:43 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, July 2 : The interlocutors are too intelligent to be ignorant of facts and have by design and not by default misinterpreted certain facts to create confusion and rake up an unwarranted debate for the convenience of Kashmir-centric political groups ,alleged Dr Jitendra Singh, BJP national executive member. J&K chief spokesperson and as an example he placed documentary evidence both from the constitution of India as well as the constitution of J&K to show that nowhere it was written that accession of J&K was conditional or that the Parliament of India had no jurisdiction over J&K as observed by the interlocutors . Dr Jitendra Singh was addressing a seminar on "Central Govt Interlocutors' Report on J & K:" Progressive or Pernicious?" , jointly organized by the Hyderabad chapter of the Jammu Kashmir Study Centre and the Social Cause at Sundaraiah Vignana Kendram on Sunday, Dr Jitendra Singh said successionism and call for Azadi were being used by the separatist and pro-Pakistani elements to extract concessions after concessions. He said while there were no surprises in the 178 page report, it was an "incomplete" report and that the things left unsaid were even more dangerous . Questioning the intentions of the Union Government, Dr Singh said the report, which was lying for seven months, was made public 36 hours after parliament was adjourned sine die.He said the report has suggested the formation of a Constitutional Committee to review all Central Acts and Articles of Constitution extended to J&K post-1953 and recommending, wherever needed, withdrawal of the same. It talks of dual character of J&K, dual status of people of J&K, he said and added that the government was trying to reopen closed chapters. It further suggested to make Article 370 permanent by deleting the word "temporary' What has come out in the form of a report by this team is a treasonous document which reflects no different mindset than that of Separatists of J&K, Dr Singh said. Questioning the very locus standii of the Interlocutors, Dr Singh recalled that BJP had infact demanded the resignation and disbanding of the committee after they were seen enjoying the hospitality of ISI agent Ghulam Nabi Fai. Dr. Singh also reminded that the interlocutors were too intelligent to submit a report out of ignorance. The interlocutors also stress the need to start dialogue with Hurriyat groups and with the 'stake holders in PoK' and then with Pakistan.
