KATRA, July 2: A traffic police cop was today transferred from Reasi to Jammu for allegedly demanding "entry" from a cab driver near Reasi here.
Cop identified as Tariq Bhat stopped Tata Indica (JK14B/1840) at Sula Park near Reasi and allegedly demanded "entry" from him. The cop who was demanding entry was sitting by DTI Diwankar Singh in a Sumo car bearing registration number JK02K/2980.
When the cab driver refused to give him money, he reprimanded him and also allegedly showered abuses on him.
After the matter was brought to the notice of IG Traffic police, he immediately ordered his transfer to Jammu, police sources said.
"Entry" is taken by traffic police on weekly or monthly basis from passenger vehicle operators to allow them violate traffic norms with impunity from law.
The "entry" is also taken by traffic cops from minibus operators and buses, besides trucks.
