EJAC -K calls upon employees to join "Lal Chowk Challoo" as part of protest

Jammu, July 4: The J&K National Trade Union Front (JKNTUF) & Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) 3rd Front jointly have appealed the cadre to mobilise the common employees of various departments in support of four days 'Total Shut Down (Talla Bandh)' strike call from July 9.
While addressing a joint press conference in Jammu Nazir Ahmed Molvi Spokesman J&K National Trade Union Front(JKNTUF) flanked with other J&KNTUF leaders namely Arun Moza, Rajinder Kumar, Molvi Muneer Ahmed, Jaswant Singh, and others endorsed the four days strike called by JCC Sr leaders Mohammad Gafoor Dar and Khursheed Aalam in support of their demands.
During the meeting the members highlighted demands including full implementation of the agreement viz, regularization policy for all DRW's need base worker/casual labours, adhoces, contractual who engaged after 1994, enhancement of retirement age from 58 to 60 year, Removal of pay anomalies of clerical, cadre, ICDS supervisors & pre-revised grade of 6500-10500 in various departments and budgetary support to the public sector.
The speakers said, "During the strike from July 9, the employees will observe strike in their respective office complexes and hold gate demonstrations and on 11th July demonstrations & rallies will be held on all the Dist headquarters in front of Dy Commissioner offices."
They appealed to rank and file of J&K National Trade Union Front & EJAC 3rd Front to mobilise the common employees of various departments in support of four days strike call from 9th July throughout state.
"In Jammu city employees of all the departments will assemble in Panama Chowk in front of Div. Commissioner office, where a massive protest rally will be organized. The rally will be addressed by the Sr JCC leader Mohammad Gafoor Dar State president of EJAC Third Front & JKNTUF, they added.
Prominent leaders of EJAC 3rd Front who were present in the conference included Karan Singh, Bharat Bushan Bhatti, Naresh Sharma, Devi Dass and etc.
Meanwhile Employees Joint Action Committee -Kashmir (EJAC -K) also has called upon the employees to observe four days Complete Shutdown (Tala Band Hartal) from July 9-12, including "Lal Chowk Challoo" to sit at Lal Chowk on July 12 as a part of their protest.
During a daylong session of EJAC (K) Khurshid Alam employees held a meeting under the presidentship of S. Kulwant Singh Provincial President EJAC (K) and JCC leader to discuss how to make the four days strike.
S Kulwant Singh alleged govt did not address the agreed demands but also resorted to ruthless repression on the struggling employees by using force against peaceful demonstrators.
He appealed to all sections of govt and public sectors employees to observe "Talla Band Hartal" from July 9-12 to force the state govt to implement the agreement in letter and sprits.
Among those who spoke in the meeting included Shahid Hussain, Raju Kumar, Rohit George, Narinder Singh Dard, Ranjeet Singh, Kulesh Kumar, Vijay Sharma and etc.
