| Dealer arrested for misappropriating govt ration in Kathua | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 4 : Police today arrested a dealer for allegedly misappropriating government ration and selling it openly in the market in tehsil Billawar of Kathua district. Based on tip-off, police party comprising Station House Officer Irfan Parvez, DySP Rafiq Manhas under the supervision of Additional SP Kathua Zahid Manhas conducted a raid in Drumani and arrested a ration dealer for misappropriating BPL, APL ration. "The dealer identified as Jagdish Kumar alias Jaggu, son of Babu Ram was arrested on the spot and 40 empty bags of government ration and 40 private bags were also seized from his shop besides, 50 full bags of ration," the SDPO added. The accused used to misappropriate government ration and after filling them in private gunny bags, used to sell it in the market.
"A case under FIR number 95/12, under sections 409 of RPC and 3/7 Essential Commodities Act has been registered and investigations are in progress," he added. |
