Rather addresses public gathering at Dhegwar | | | Early Times Report POONCH, July 4 : The Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs, Abdul Rahim Rather today reiterated that special attention towards development of the bad pockets and hitherto neglected areas of the State is one of the top priorities of the present Government adding that it is for the first time in the history of the State that special grants are being earmarked for development of such areas in the Annual Budgets of the State consecutively since last two years.Addressing a public meeting in a backward village Dhegwar Tarwan in Poonch, situated on LoC Zero line, Rather assured that all round development of this backward area will be given focused attention in the plan allocations. He said it was very unfortunate that the village Dhagwar Tarwan, comprising three panchayat halqas, is still lacking adequate basic facilities like drinking water, power supply, Irrigation and road communication. Rather, who is the first cabinet Minister, who visited the area since last about 15 years, assured that he will take up the issue of all round development of the area with the concerned authorities immediately on his return to Srinagar, the summer capital of the State. He said provision of solar lights and improved road connectivity in the area shall be given top priority. |
