Gupta castigates killing of policemen ahead of Indo-Pak talks | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 5 : Condemning the gunning down of cops and other such like acts of terror in the troubled Kashmir on the eve of Indo-Pak Secretary level talks with the agenda of Confidence Building Measures, the former Union Minister and MLA, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta has observed that such like deplorable acts of savagery are part of the design though not first of its kind. All this speaks volumes itself which needed a serious note without which the whole exercise would be meaningless. In a statement, Prof. Gupta pointed out that such like act of terror and brutal killings are an old practice of enemies of the peace . On the eve of talks between the two countries, this has been happening in the past too. But as the serious notice of such happenings was not taken in the past, the things continue to take a bad shape and little good had come out. But more than this, he said, are the outbursts of the separatist Zealots, are not without meaning. It is pity that instead of taking into consideration the utterances of such fundamentalists, separatists and even those of semi-separatists, the New Delhi seems to be still opting the unrealistic approach, which is generally termed as the policy of appeasement, he added and asserted such elements should be dealt with a firm hand under the law of the land and they should be made clear that enough is enough as dilly delaying would not work. Because of such elements lakhs of people have been turned to become refugees within the Country and strange stories are being concocted to add salt to the injuries of those uprooted people who have their abode for Centuries in Kashmir. And persons raising ugly fingers themselves are under question of being Kashmiris and have been operating as ambassadors of Pakistan and trying to mislead the people in the name of religion. |
