| Chairman JKDF visits flood affected areas of city | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 6 : Anil Gupta Chairman JKDF today visited the flood affected areas of Subhash Nagar, Talab Tillo, and Resham Ghar colony to assess the situation and damages caused to local residents due to heavy rains. The water in these areas has entered into the houses of residents thereby caused heavy damage to household belongings. The muddy water has carried away everything which came in the way. Even the Rations stored too have carried away by the water. Lanes are filled with the mud, Water supply and electricity is still to be restored.
Anil Gupta immediately directed to Sr. JKDF Leader Prashant Puri for taking early measures on behalf of JKDF ,which could give some relief and help to the worse affected victims of rains. Acting quickly on the advice Prashant Puri along with Vinoo Khanna a Sr. JKDF Lady Wing leader distributed Rice, Flour, pulses and other rations to the 92 affected families in Subhash Nagar, Talab Tillo and Resham Ghar Colony.
Anil Gupta while addressing to the affected residents said , JKDF will extend every possible help to the flood victims in order to bring the life back to normalcy in these areas. Anil Gupta appealed to the Government to immediately sanction some relief to the residents and also assess the damages to the Houses and other property.
While receiving the interim relief from JKDF, the people of affected areas expressed their gratitude to JKDF Chairman Anil Gupta and other workers who are doing yeoman service in reaching to the common people especially on such occasion when they need the help and so called elected representatives who are supposed to visit these areas are nowhere in the scene. The other prominent workers of JKDF present on the occasion are Vivek Raja, Ajay Manhas, Rakesh Gupta, Kailash Kumar, Mangal Singh. |
