Foreign terrorist killed in Valley | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 6 : Based on specific information about presence of terrorists in the area of Boban Village in the densely forested Rajwar in Handwara in the frontier Kupwara district of North Kashmir, a joint operation was launched by the Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police on 05 July 2012 at 1800 hours. 'A contact was established with the terrorists last night and in the ensuing encounter, one unidentified terrorist, likely to be a foreigner, has been killed. Two houses from where the terrorists were firing have suffered damage. In the last one week, five likely foreign terrorists have been killed in the area. The identity of the slain terrorist is being ascertained. While body of one terrorist has been recovered, it is likely that more terrorists holed up in the houses have been killed. Search operations are in progress,' Srinagar based Srinagar based Defence Spokesperson Lt Col JS Brar said. One AK rifle, one Global Positioning System, one map sheet and a large quantity of ammunition have been recovered,' he added. |
