Jammu, July 6 : During the ongoing joint operation of Headquarters 7 Sector Rashtriya Rifles and JKP launched at Handwara which has so far resulted in elimination of five dreaded terrorists, Army authorities provided very intimate medical care to the Head Constable of JKP who suffered serious gunshot wounds. Head Constable Sher Mohammad of 7 Battalion of JKP was attached with Special Task Force, Zachaldara and was part of operation when this incident took place on July 5. He sustained serious injuries resulting in compound multiple fractures of both thighs and hands. He was immediately evacuated by Army Helicopter to 92 Base Hospital of Army at Badami Bagh Cantonment where he is presently undergoing treatment and is in safe hands of Specialist Army Doctors. This fine gesture of the Chinar Corps has set a new tone for the integrated functioning of the Security Forces in Kashmir. Irrespective of the colour of uniform, Security Forces personnel are endangering their lives for the common cause, that is peace. The family of injured soldier came to look him up and conveyed their gratitude and were grateful to Army for having provided all the assistance and medical care. We hope and pray for his speedy recovery. |
