| Police registers four cases of Power theft | | | Early Times Report
Udhampur, July 6: A team of Police Officers accompanied with Officials of PDD Udhampur under the supervision of AEE M&RE PDD Udhampur conducted surprise inspection in Indira Nagar area and microwave lane of Udhampur and got FIRs lodged against four offenders for electricity theft.
According to spokesperson, the PDD team during inspection in Indira nagar area, found that one consumer namely Sudesh Kumar S/o Sh. Badri Nath tenant of sh. Bal Krishan S/o Charan Dass R/o House No. 252 W.No. 2, Indira nagar Udhampur was using electricity illegally which is an offence under J&K Electricity Act 2010. In this regard, on the complaint of AEE M&RE Udhampur, FIR No. 232/2012 U/S J&K Electricity Act 2010 Part XIV Sub-Section 95 (Part-A) was registered against the defaulter and investigation of the case is going on.Similarly, PDD team during inspection in Microwave Lane area, found that one consumer namely Parma Nand S/o Sh. Gouri Sharma was by-passing electronic meter with the help of a Changeover switch which is an offence under J&K Electricity Act 2010. A case stands registered under FIR No. 233/2012 U/S J&K Electricity Act 2010 Part XIV Sub-Section 95 (Part-A) in this regard. Yet in another case PDD team found that one consumer namely Ashok Kumar S/o Sh Prem Nath using electricity illegally in the newly constructed portion. A case under FIR No. 234/2012 U/S J&K Electricity Act 2010 Part XIV Sub-Section 95 (Part-A) was registered.
In another case, PDD team while inspecting Microwave Lane area, found that one consumer namely Radhe Kumar S/o Sh. Ved Parkash Shop Keeper tenant of Ravi Kumar S/o Late Sh Mani Ram was using electricity illegally and booked him under FIR No. 233/2012 U/S J&K Electricity Act 2010 Part XIV Sub-Section 95 (Part-A) and investigation of the case is going on. |
