Police recovers kidnapped girl from Ludhiana

JAMMU, July 7: Police have claimed to recover a kidnapped girl hailing from Ghagwal area of district Samba from Ludhiana.
According to police sources, a girl identified as Reshma (name changed) of Chann Kana village in Ghagwal area was allegedly kidnapped by a youth identified as Suraj Singh son of Jagdev Singh hailing from Gangeeth With a meticulous planning, a special team of Samba Police succeeded in tracing and recovering the kidnapped girl from Ludhiana (Punjab) and also arrested the kidnapper who had abducted the girl and confined her at Ludhiana.It is worthwhile to mention here that the area remained tense due to the kidnapping of the girl on June 6.However, Police party headed by SHO P/S Ghagwal, Inspector Rakesh Akram under the supervision of Dy SP HQ Samba Munish Anand swung into action and raided different places by keeping track on the movement of the kidnapper through active surveillance which finally led to the arrest of the accused from Ludhiana and recovery of the girl. After conducting the medical examination of the recovered girl, she was handed over to her legal heirs.Police said an FIR No. 48/2012 u/s 366 RPC was lodged at P/S Ghagwal and further investigation of the case was in progress.
Meanwhile, a Police party headed by SHO P/S Bari-Brahmna Inspector Arun Jamwal under the supervision of Dy SP SDPO Bari-Brahmna S M Jangral has arrested a couple namely Anjum @ Anju @ Rimki daughter of Nazar of village Baban, District Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh (UP) and Vijay Pal Singh son of Mani Lal of village Betampura, Swajipur, Hardoi (UP) who were missing from their native places since May 12 last.
Police arrested the couple on the lookout notice issued by UP Police in Case FIR No. 75/2012 u/s 363/366/376 IPC P/S Lonar District Hardoi (UP) regarding the kidnapping of said girl.
Bari-Brahmna Police noticed the couple roaming in the area who tried to run away after seeing the Police party.
On suspicion, Police followed and intercepted the couple and with vigorous questioning came to know that they were the same couple UP Police is looking for. On the instructions of SSP Samba, Israr Khan, the UP Police was contacted and informed about the recovery of said girl.A Police Party has been dispatched by the Uttar Pradesh Police to P/S Bari-Brahmna to take over the custody of the couple.
