| ReTs hold protest in support of demands | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 7: All J&K ReT Teachers' Forum today held day long peaceful protest demonstrations at all the District Headquarter in support of their demands. At Jammu, the protest march was led by Provincial President Rajesh Singh Jamwal and State Sr. Vice President Younis Rahi.A large number of protesters gathered at Panama Chowk from where they marched towards the office of Divisional Commissioner. They submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister through Divisional Commissioner. At Udhampur, the protest demonstration was led by State president Vinod Sharma and Distt president Lekh Raj Parihar. Hundreds of ReTs assembled at Mini Stadium and after passing through different bazaars reached DC Office. They were holding placards and shoutings slogans in support of their demands. Later a memorandum of chapter of demands was submitted to the Chief Minister through DC Office. At Poonch State Gen. Secy. Najam Jafri and Bader Din Rather led the protest of hundreds of RETs form C.E.O Office to D.C office. They were shouting slogans against the Govt. for ignoring their genuine demands and forcing them to come on roads. Later they submitted a memorandum to C.M through D.C. Similar protests were held at Rajouri, Ramban, Doda, Kishtwar, Reasi, Kathua and Samba. Meanwhile, RETs of Kashmir Division also held protest at Srinagar and Submitted memorandum to Div. Comm. The RET forum has warned to intensity their stir in near future if their genuine demands are not conceded before assembly session and a strategy for next progra mme of the forum would be announced on July 29 in the State Level Meeting at Jammu. It is pertinent to mention here that the Forum is demanding regularization of more than 7000 EVS as general line teachers who have completed their 7 years service in the department since March 2010 onwards as per the commitment of the Government. Besides this, the Forum also demanded Placement of RETs appointment before January 1, 2010 and consequently regularization after January 1, 2010 under old pension scheme by implementing Govt. order No 115 Edu of 2008, dated February 29, 2008 and inclusion of 5 years service of ReTs for pensionary benefits. |
