| Candidates call for cancellation of CET select list | | Kingpin goes into hiding | | Bashir Assad
srinagar, July 7: The alleged mastermind of CET 2012 exam paper leak, Bashir Ahmad Ganai of Anantnag, in a vain attempt to suppress the facts and to escape the transparent and investigative reporting, has served a legal notice to a local news portal which published the news item, BOPEE held in suspicion" actually exposed by Early Times in its Jun 4th edition, seeking unconditional apology from him through local media. By extending the net of investigations, one Farooq Ahmad Ittu belonging to village Darigund Bijbehara is being projected another bog broker and tout instrumental in purchase and sale of question papers. Ittu having computer background is alleged to be close to the present BOPEE chairman. The CET 2012 exam did not publish the revised key while it hid its earlier declared key thereby making the whole process fishy. Meanwhile, Ittu is reportedly absconding and has left the state to evade any possible action.
It merits a mention here that Early Times has uncovered alleged CET 2012 exam gate scandal on June 5 with Ganai as the Kingpin of the scandal. The news item reads, "The CET 2012 results Jammu and Kashmir declared on June 30 have come as a startling development for the meritorious and career conscious students of the State who appeared in the examination with full confidence but could not make it as there is more to it than meets the eye".
Scores of agitated students alleged that the entire process of selection is fishy and scandalous and challenged the veracity and accuracy of the selection list. While having a glance at the selection list particularly from Anantnag area in South Kashmir it becomes abundantly clear that the allegations leveled by students carry much weight as results include such students whose performance in their metric and +2 exams have remained quite below the mark.
They are widely known to be underachievers. Reports suggest that the question papers have were allegedly put on virtual sale by Ganai who is rolling in unimaginable riches -thanks his scandalous person.
It merits a mention here that Bashir Ahmad Ganai, a Government teacher by profession was earlier arrested by police stations of Dooru and Kokernag for leaking the questions papers of State Board of School Education five years back and for indulging in impersonation. Ganai at that time was managing to get himself associated with examinations with the intention to earn money by leaking papers or arranging impersonators.
Ganai has interestingly managed to get his date of birth recorded as 1978 and what is even more interesting is the fact that he passed his matriculation examination through CBSE in the year 1990 which means that he was only 12 years old at that time which is unimaginable and beyond comprehension.
On pursuing his track record, some startling revelations has come to the fore which suggest that Ganai has been issuing fake certificates to the aspirants and even gets them appointed in various departments. A crook from his teenage, Ganai broke open locker containing examination papers of class 8th and 9th at Sainik School Mansbal where he was studying and was terminated by the management.
It is alleged that Ganai, got himself appointed as teacher on 29-10-1998 by paying a hefty sum to one of the SSRB members hailing from Anantnag district. However, Ganai has never attended his duties, instead pursued his MBA as a regular student outside the state while his younger brother Manzoor Ahmad resorting to impersonation was working in his place for about two years.
The "Mr. Clean" even at present manages fake certificates from Mahatma Gandhi Kashee Vidya Peeth Varanasi, Bhartiya Shikhsha Parishad and PRIEST for aspirants including his close relatives and those paying hefty amounts. As a tip of the iceberg which is significantly revealing, Ganai got appointed Shahnawaz Ahmad Lone and Sajad Ahmad Ganai as Statistical Assistants pursuant to advertisement notice No. 7 of 2010 dated 12-11-2010. Not only this Ganai got his younger brother Manzoor Ahmad and another boy from his village appointed as Physical Education Teachers by managing false BP.Ed certificated for both of them when the fact remains that both of them were running a Tea Stall in KMD Bus Stand at Anantnag and have never pursued higher studies.
There are many more skeletons in Ganai's cupboard and still he claims to be enjoying a good reputation in the society and projects himself as "Mr. Clean".
In the alleged CET scandal Ganai got her cousin sister Heena Saleem who appeared in the entrance examination under Roll Number 123388, selected at 36th rank which is highly startling as she had previously failed even in her secondary school examination as a regular student, subsequently she passed it in third division as a private candidate and has passed her 12th examination in third attempt under roll no. 151201 (2010 regular).
Meanwhile, a candidate namely Amira Shakeel who appeared in CET under Roll No. 122222 has disassociated herself from the module. His father Abdul Qadir while talking to ET said that her daughter is a meritorious student and never indulged in unfair means. |
