Gupta inaugurates Health Sub Centre
Announces Rs 4 Lakh for Panchayats development

KATHUA, July 8: Member of Legislative Council (MLC) Subash Gupta today inaugurated a Health Sub Centre at village Koota of Hiranagar Tehsil.
Addressing locals after inaugurating the Health Sub Centre, Gupta said that the government would bring more reforms to further improve the health delivery system, particularly in rural and far-flung areas of the state. He urged upon the medical fraternity to re-double their efforts to maintain the tempo of better delivery of health services.
He said that the people have high expectations from the medical fraternity and they should continue to perform their duties with best of their abilities and as per medical ethics. He also stressed the need for maintaining close coordination between different wings to achieve the common goals.
He supported the genuine demand of the public of Koota and urged upon the government to open Primary Health Care Centre (PHC) soon.
Later, Gupta convened various public meetings to take stock of grievances and demands of the people of these areas.
During the day long tour, the MLC visited Harsath, Chhan Gudian, Taryal, Drakhar in Ghagwal block and listened to the problems of the people.
People of these areas demanded immediate repairing of Ghagwal- Rajpura road, better drinking water supply to OBC mohalla of village Harsath, replacement of old PHE water pipes, installation of new handpump, shifting of electric transformer from main bazaar Ghagwal, construction of boundary wall of Primary school Darakhar, fresh BPL survey, replacement of damaged electric polls, repair of damaged lanes and drains, installation of new irrigation and PHE tube well, compensation for damage of crop due to drought 2009, Up-gradation of Middle School Harsath to High School, opening of Primary Health Center, installation of High Mask Lights.
While responding, Gupta gave onspot instruction to the Engineer PDD for early replacement of transformer in the area and assured the people that the tube-well would also be constructed soon to mitigate the water scarcity. He asked the people to avail maximum benefit from the schemes launched by State as well as Central Governments for uplift of socio-economic condition of weaker sections of the society. He informed the people that Jandi, Ghagwal, Jasrota and potential places of Kathua would be developed as tourism spots.
Responding to the local demands, Gupta announced 4 lakhs for the development of Panchayats Harsat, Nonath and Randhwal.
Sarpanch Vimala Devi, Sarpanch Jai Ram, Sarpanch Vijay Tagotra, Sarpanch Sat Paul, Sarpanch Jagram and other political leaders were present on the occasion.
