| Bovines rescued, smuggler held | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 9: Police arrested a smuggler and rescued eight bovines from his custody in Miran Sahib of R S Pura locality, police said.
"The accused (driver) has been identified as Zakir Hussain, resident of Rani Bagh, police said.
"Police intercepted a mobile van during wee hours at Miran Sahib check post and during frisking found eight bovines, hidden beneath the gunny bags, police said further adding, "during investigations it was found that the bovines were being smuggled to Qazikund."
A case under section 188 of RPC and section 3 of Cruelty Against Animals Act has been registered,'' police added. |
