Dy CM for early completion of Dal development projects | Rs 28 cr earmarked for development of Rakhi Aaruth | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, July 9: Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand has asked the officers of LAWDA to speed up work on Dal Development Projects and ensure that projects taken up are completed as per schedule. Deputy Chief Minister was presiding over 19th Board of Directors meeting of Lakes and Water Ways' Development Authority [LAWADA) here today. Minister of State for Housing & Urban Development, Home and Tourism, Nasir Aslam Wani, Principal Secretary Housing and Urban Development, Suresh Kumar, Vice Chairman, LAWADA, Erfan Yasin besides other senior officers were present on the occasion. Tara Chand said that city population is on rise which has necessitated for providing increased basic amenities to the people and asked the officers to formulate future Dal development plans keeping in account growing needs of the people. He instructed them to connect all leftover areas with the Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) constructed around the Dal Lake to ensure flow of cultured water into Lake. Deputy Chief Minister instructed the authority to increase men and machinery on all projects, in view of limited working season, for their timely completion. Emphasizing on inter departmental coordination, he asked officers to keep constant check and ensure that no encroachment shall taken place in and around the Lake. |
