| JMC cracks down on encroachers | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 9: Under instructions from K.L. Khajuria Commissioner Municipal Corporation Jammu, while further continuing and intensifying the Anti Encroachment drive to clear the footpaths / pavements, parts of road sides the Enforcement staff led by Chief Enforcement Officer conducted drive in the areas of Channi Himmat, Marble Market etc. During the drive the team seized materials / goods/ articles like Flowers Plots, Plants, Weighing Scales, Tables, Umbrellas, Crates, Sign Boards, Terracotta / Clay Items etc. which were kept by the shopkeepers by encroaching upon footpaths / pavements in these areas causing inconvenience to the pedestrians and also creating obstruction in the free movements of vehicular traffic. The drive has been conducted with the help of Police Force from Channi Himmat, Police Station and also from District Police Lines, Jammu. Besides this, the team also removed hoardings & banners which were erected by different firms / agencies on public places in these areas without permission of Jammu Municipal Corporation. |
