| Lok Adalat decides 9 cases, awards Rs 6,05,000 as compensation | | |
Jammu, July 9: (JNF):- A Lok Adalat was held today on July 9, 2012 in the District Court Complex Udhampur under the chairmanship of Ashok Kumar Koul Pr. Dist. & Sessions Judge Udhampur. Two benches were constituted to deal and settle the cases referred to the Lok Adalat. First bench comprising of Ashok Kumar Koul Pr. Dist. and Sessions Judge Udhampur and Mohinder Kumar Sharma Addl. Dist. and Sessions Judge Udhampur was constituted to deal with matrimonial and MACT Cases. Second bench comprising of Soba Ram Gandhi CJM Udhampur and Khem Raj Sharma DMM Udhampur was constituted to deal with Civil & Criminal matters referred by the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate and other Magistrates at Udhampur. Total 28 cases were taken up in the Lok Adalat by two benches out of which 2 MACT were settled and 9 Civil/Criminal were settled. An amount of Rs. 605000 (Rupees six lac five thousand only) was given as compensation in MACT cases. |
