| Shahnawaz's rally turns a low key affair in Poonch | | | SALIL RAINA
Poonch, July 9, Despite much publicity by youth congress Poonch to attract youth and congress supporters in a youth congress rally, which was scheduled to welcome its newly elected State Youth Congress President Shahnawaz Choudhary , only a few supporters were seen in the premises of Dak Bungalow Poonch.
To the sharp contrast of the high voltage campaign from the party cadre, the Shahnawaz's maiden visit to Poonch after taking over as State President of Youth Congress, turned out to be a low key affair as only 150 to 200 people were seen in the premises of Dak Bungalow Poonch, whereas the arrangements of over one thousand people were made.
On seeing poor gathering State President IYC Shahnawaz Choudhary, frostily thanked all the congress delegated for giving him 100% votes in President election and ensured them that he would leave no stone unturned to ensure maximum development.
He said that " the first job before the State Youth Congress unit is to force the govt to ensure implementation of Panchayati Raj act in state and we will do that in a peaceful way.
However Satish Sharma, IYC President, Jammu Poonch Constituency, who was accompanying Shahnawaz Choudhary, to brush aside from the low key affair occasion appealed the youth congress workers to eliminate difference within the party to set the system on right track instead of being taken for a ride.
He appealed the masses to come forward and avail the facilities and benefits being provided under various schemes. He said, that "the centre and state govt is providing maximum funds for development through various schemes like NREGA, IAY, NRHM, PMGSY and RGBY, but we have to ensure its implementation on the ground as its the responsibility of every people to ensure development on ground.
Earlier, Abhinav Sharma District Youth Congress President, presented facts and figures about the Poonch youth congress activities of past and said that Rahul Gandhi's formula of holding elections at Tehsil and District level.
District President Congress, S Rajinder Singh also spoke on the occasion and asked the party cadres to strengthen the party at grass root level.
The whole function was held under the President ship of MLC Jehangir Mir, who in his address that Congress should work whole heartedly to give a new life to party for the future and congratulated Shahnawaz Choudhary over his success.
He also rejected the rumours about differences within party and said there is no difference between the party cadres and congress is fully united and further hoped that party will emerge as a major force in J&K politics in near future.
