KISHTWAR, July 9: Mumbai metropolitan Judge today extended remand of Parvaiz Iqbal Tak till 19th of July for his alleged role in kidnapping of Bollywood starlet Laila Khan and her family.
After landing in Mumbai on a transit remand from Munsif Court Kishtwar, Crime Branch produced accused Parvaiz Iqbal Tak before Additional Metropolitan Judge who handed over Tak custody to Mumbai Crime Branch to quiz him in a case of kidnapping U/S 363/366 IPC registered by them on July 5 at Ohshiwara police station on the complaint of biological father of actress Laila Khan.
Mumbai Crime Branch told the court that they want to find out where Tak has kept Laila Khan and other five members of the family and if he has killed them, where are their dead bodies. Tak has been booked by Mumbai Crime Branch under relevant sections of kidnapping though he (Tak) reportedly confessed before the Jammu and Kashmir Police that he had killed them, but Crime Branch is not ready to accept Tak's version as he (Tak ) is regularly changing his statement after he was arrested by Kishtwar police on 21st of June 2012. Tak during his sustained interrogation by Kishtwar police said that he along with his friend Shakir Hussain killed Laila Khan and her 5 other family members on February 9 last year at Igatpuri farmhouse and buried all the dead bodies in nearby forest. As per Kishtwar police investigation, Tak and his friend after killing Laila and her family rush to Jammu and reach their by the evening of February 11, where they abandoned Scorpio vehicle at Nehru Market Jammu.
However, Crime Branch Mumbai believed that after kidnapping, Tak took Laila and her elder sister Hazmina somewhere else. Though Kishtwar police informed the Crime Branch Mumbai about Tak's discloser and also brief them about the location where Tak and his friend Shakir buried the dead bodies, but Crime Branch Mumbai feels that till all they did not recover the dead bodies they are not in a position to believe on Tak’s discloser. According to the Mumbai sources, Crime Branch Mumbai along with local Magistrate will rush to the spot where he (Tak) claims that he had buried them after killing. The sources said that the digging of graves will start at around 11 AM tomorrow in presence of Magistrate and team of forensic experts. The source said that once they recovered the dead bodies, only then they will convert kidding case into murder.
Meanwhile, the sources said that both Sonu alias Wufi Khan and Afgan Khan were in love with actress Laila Khan, while stepfather Asif Sheikh wanted Laila to marry Sonu. The sources said that both Asif Sheikh and Sonu are very close friends since Sonu helped Asif financially.
The sources said that it was due to pressure from Asif Sheikh and Sonu's alleged underworld links, Laila Khan agreed to marry Sonu for which she had to travel to Dubai for solemnizing marriage with him since Sonu is apparently wanted by Maharashtra police for his links in hawala racket.
The sources said Afghan Khan also pressurized Laila Khan to marry him, but Laila refused after he (Afghan Khan) transferred major share of his property on the name of his two daughters. The sources said that after Afghan Khan reached Igatpuri farmhouse of the actress, he found all the family members missing suspected that the actress and her family might have flew outside the country by rejecting his feelings of love towards Laila Khan. The sources said that after finding no one at home, Afghan Khan broke the locks of the doors and put the interior of the house on fire in state of anger. The sources said that for unraveling the Laila Khan and her family member's murder mystery, the arrest of Afghan Khan and Shakir is very vital. The sources said that both Mumbai Police and Kishtwar police has launched major hunt to trace out the absconding Shakir and Khan. Though Kishtwar Police detain Shakir Hussain for questioning soon after the recovery of Laila Khan's Outlander vehicle from Kishtwar, but was allowed to go after he provided vital information about main accused Parvaiz Iqbal Tak.
Kishtwar police let accused Shakir to go since there is no FIR registered against either Parvaiz Iqbal Tak or his friend Shakir Hussain. Even though police registered two FIR's against Tak for cheating and forgery, but no FIR stands registered against Shakir Hussain with Kishtwar Police even today and as per the police there is no reason to book Shakir at that time. Police officials in Kishtwar said that Shakir’s arrest by Kishtwar police is only dependent on the bases of the case registered with Mumbai police and the warrant from the concerned Mumbai court.
