West Bengal blanks DFA Anantnag to meet J&K Bank in QFs | 14th J&K Police Martyrs' Memorial Football Tournament | | Early Times report SRINAGAR, July 10: The visiting side of West Bengal Police blanked local lads of DFA Anantnag to qualify for the next round of quarterfinals in the 14th J&K Police Martyrs' Memorial Football Tournament, organised by J&K Police at Bakshi Stadium, here today. Now, in the quarterfinals, to be played tomorrow, West Bengal Police shall take on J&K Bank-A at 5 pm at Bakshi Stadium, here. Earlier, in the pre-quarterfinals, West Bengal dominated the proceedings throughout making it a 4-0 easy win. Mehtab, Anupam, Dipanrar and Koushak netted one goal each from the winners. Meanwhile, in another match of the day, J&K Police-A trounced Maharashtra Police by a solitary goal to enter the last eight stages of quarterfinals. The all important goal of the match came through Vishal Bhardwaj. This tournament is being organised under the guidance of tournament director and general secretary of the J&K Football Association, SA Hamid. Today's pre-quarterfinals were officiated by the penal of officials including Nazir Sofi, Noor Mohammad, Farooq Ahmad Khan, Mohd Shafi, Muzzafar Ahmad, Hilal Ahmad, Shabir Ahmed, Mohd Shafi and Rakesh Kumar.
FIXTURE: Quarterfinals: RFC Kapurthala shall take on JKPDC-A at 9 am; Food and Supplies to meet Punjab Police at 3 pm; J&K Bank-A to face West Bengal Police at 5 pm tomorrow at Bakshi Stadium. |
