| Flash flood damages under construction dam in Samba | | | Early Times Report
Samba, July 10: Due to the rains in upper reaches in Jammu region, the water level of seasonal rivulet Basanter in Samba District swelled and reportedly barged into a cluster of small villages including Talood, Amli, Saluud and Kalluha besides damaging the under construction Bundh here today.
According to reports the water inundated many low lying areas situated along the river banks and entered into residential areas resulting into damage to houses.
Meanwhile no loss of life or injury has been reported so far from the areas, reports said.
Reports said that flash floods partially damaged the under construction Check dam also.
Apart from this the river water has breached into the low lying irrigated land causing substantial loss to the farmers. Reports also added that the rescue operation to evacuate people living in low lying areas to the safer places. |
