Lal Singh listens to public grievances

KATHUA, July 10 : To listen to the demands and problems of the people and ensure immediate redressal of the same, Member Parliament Ch. Lal Singh convened Public Darbar at his residence here today.
The people of the villages Domar, Banhore, Barni and Choee demanded augmentation of the drinking water facility in their villages by installation of hand pump and upgradation of existing Water Supply Schemes (WSS), while residents of village Tridwan demanded early start of work on the WSS proposed for the area .The people of the village Kanda demanded up gradation of Primary school to Middle school level. A deputation of sportsmen from Kathua demanded Mechanized roller for the cricket pitch in the sports stadium Kathua.
Similarly, the people of village Hatli demanded High Mast light for the village, while a deputation of the people from village Maan demanded early repair of the road, besides benefit of BPL schemes to the deserving people.
The people of village Baneadi demanded shallow handpumps for the village to overcome the problem of the scarcity of drinking water. The people of various villages demanded early disposal of their old age pension and widow pension applications which are lying with the social welfare department for a long time.
Responding to the demands, MP issued directions to PHE functionaries to restore the regular supply of drinking water to the areas facing shortage. MP also assured that he would provide necessary funds for the purchase of Cricket Pitch roller. Regarding the demand of Hand pumps, Ch. Lal Singh assured that hand pumps will be provided on the priority basis.
Ch. Lal Singh directed the XEn PMGSY to provide him the details/status of various road projects going on in the District.
Ch. Lal Singh said that UPA government at the Centre, headed by Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, was committed for the development and progress of the nation. He said that central Govt. has launched several schemes and programmes for the welfare of people and appealed to the people to come forward and get the benefit of various central and state sponsored schemes like MNERGAIAY, old aged pension, widow pension etc. Among others ADDC Kathua Ajay Singh Jamwal, Addl. SP Kathua, RTO Kathua, Tehsildar Kathua, BDO Kathua, Executive officer MC, Deputy CEO, Sarpanch, Panch and large number of people.
