Jammu, July 10: These days the administration of Jammu University is running under absolute chaos. The lack of coordination and infighting among the University top brass can be gauged from the fact that order of handing over the charge of Director Academic Staff College (ASC) to one of the senior most Professor was issued on last Friday and withdrawn on the subsequent day.
According to highly placed sources, the Vice Chancellor Dr Mohan Paul Singh Ishar had signed the order handing over the additional charge of Director, Academic Staff College to HoD Education Prof Lokesh Verma. Under this plan, the University relieved him from the additional charge of Provost Hostels. The order was issued and circulated on Friday. The very next day it was announced that the order was passed inadvertently and hence withdrawn.
Sources added that Registrar Prof Naresh Padha was against the handing over the charge of Director, Academic Staff College to Prof Verma. He wanted someone from his lobby to assume the said charge. So, he influenced the Vice Chancellor and made him to withdraw the order. "Had the order been inadvertently issued, the charge of Provost Hostels would not have been taken from Prof Verma. It indicates that Vice Chancellor had planned the administrative reshuffle accordingly," sources added.
Sources divulged that Prof Verma was shocked to hear that order was withdrawan as he felt insulted. He expressed resentment with the Registrar and the Vice Chancellor. The Registrar shifted the onus on Vice Chancellor and the Vice Chancellor did vice-versa. It is pertinent to mention incumbent Director Academic Staff College assumed the charge of Dean Academic Affairs on Wednesday. But, the University has yet not decided as to who will take over the charge of Academic Staff College. |
