Madan reviews implementation of central schemes

POONCH, July 11 : Member Parliament (MP) and Chairman District level Vigilance & Monitoring Committee for Centrally Sponsored Schemes, Madan Lal Sharma reviewed the pace of implementation of Central Schemes at a joint meeting of District Officers of Line Department, officials and non-officials members of committee, representatives of various financial institutions, Sarpanchs and Panchs here on Tuesday. Taking sector wise review, Chairman impressed upon officers of Rural Development Department to launch a vigorous awareness Campaign across rural areas of the district to educate the masses about the benefits of centrally sponsored schemes launched for improving their socio-economic condition and creation of dependable rural infrastructure. He impressed upon newly elected Sarpanchs and Panchs to come forward and play their role in changing the destiny of rural population by providing basic civic amenities of life, such as road connectivity, Healthcare, Potable water, better sanitation, power and education facilities. He said they shall have to play a pivtol role in the implementation of schemes like PMGSY, MNREGA, RGGKVY, NRHM, SSA and RMSA which cover all these vital sectors providing much relief to people side by side creation of durable infrastructure. Various important decisions were taken to ensure speedy completion of development works taken in hand under these schemes. It was decided that road projects taken for execution under PMGSY be divided into sections of 50 mtrs. and each section be allotted to different contractor for completion of the project in a time bound manner and setting in a competition among them. It was also decided that no compromise would be made in quality and standard of development works being executed under SSA, RGGKVY and others schemes. MP sought detailed factual report from district administration regarding plantation made under Haryali Projects, works executed under RGGKVY, SSA constructions and instructed to carry on massive rural sanitation drive with special thrust on providing such facility to educational educations and Anganwari Centres.
Chairman sought DPRs for construction of Administration Office Block for DRDA Poonch and suitable places in each CD Blocks for construction of Rural Haats and Training Cum Class Halls for preservation of fruits for Horticulture Department Poonch. He further instructed concerned authorities to preserve record of atleast 10 Photographs of development works executed in each CD blocks under central schemes and provide the same to each panchayat for their verification on the ground.
