Kishtwar, July 11: The IGP Jammu, Dilbagh Singh vindicated Early Times report of July 8 wherein it had been stated that Tak and Shakir Hussain killed Laila and her family members.
After recovering the bodies of all the 6 members including that of Bollywood starlet Laila Khan, Mumbai Crime Branch sent them to forensic experts for DNA profiling to confirm identity of the deceased.
The source said that Laila’s biological father Nadir Shah Patel this morning rushed to Nasik after police requested him for his blood sample for matching DNA extracted from the bodies.
They said that DNA samples of Saleena Patel's sister are likely to be collected for ascertaining her identity.
The sources added it was difficult to ascertain time and cause of death as the bodies were highly decomposed. However, as per the statement of Parvaiz Iqbal Tak, the actress and her family members were killed between 2.AM to 3 AM on February 9. According to sources, Mumbai police recovered the bodies with the help of Jammu & Kashmir Police.
They said that Tak during his custody with Mumbai police remained quiet most of the time and regretted his criminal act.
Sources said Tak during his interrogation claimed that actress had plans to shift to Dubai for solemnizing her marriage with Sonu alias Wufi Khan son of underworld Don aide Dawood Ibrahim.
The sources said that arrest of Afgan Khan and Shakir Hussain was vital for progress in case. They said that Crime Branch Mumbai has kept all its option open to ascertain the factual situation that led to the killing of actress and her family members.
Earlier, during his questioning in connection with case FIR No 174 registered against him at police station Kishtwar for allegedly forging PAN card of Nadir Shah Patel, he informed that it was his deceased wife Saleena Patel who helped him forge the PAN card.
"It was Saleena Patel who provided me the documents of her divorced husband for forging Patel's PAN card.", he said. He said Saleena Patel offered him help in establishing his own business in Mumbai in case she permanently shifted to Dubai.
Tak said Saleena offered him help but nominated Asif Sheikh as her attorney. Sources said Asif had promised her to deliver the cost (money) of her property at Dubai through hawala racket.
The sources said that team of Enforcement Directorate is likely to quiz Asif Sheikh in case Mumbai Crime Branch manage to establish any kind of link of Asif Sheikh with hawala racket.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Police reportedly launched a major hunt to arrest absconder Shakir Hussain of Gundow, Doda.
The sources in Jammu and Kashmir Police said that senior officials of Jammu and Kashmir Police are monitoring the operation of Shakir arrest. The Jammu and Kashmir police has reportedly circulated the photograph of accused Shakir’s Hussain to all police stations for his effective arrest. However the success continues to elude JK Police so far.
