Make programmes more interesting, CM to CEO Prasar Bharti | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, July 12: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today underlined the need for making programmes on Doordarshan and All India Radio more interesting for common people. Prasar Bharti Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jawhar Sircar accompanied by Member Personal, Brig V A M Hussain, Director General Doordarshan, Tripurari Sharan and Director General All India Radio, L D Mandloi today called on Mr Abdullah here. They discussed various matters relating to the functioning of Prasar Bharti, Doordarshan and All India Radio (AIR) in the state. The Chief Minister underlined the need to make programmes "more interesting, attractive and educative" for general people particularly students. He said Prasar Bharti has an important role in the dissemination of vital information pertaining to progress, development and other economic activities taking place in the country and the state. It plays also a significant role in keeping people aware of the happenings in the country and the state and educating them about new initiatives and measures taken by the government for the welfare of people. Mr Omar Abdullah said that Doordarshan and All India Radio should incorporate more interactive programmes under various categories involving general people in debates and discussions on various socio-economic topics. |
