ET Report
JAMMU, July 12: Jammu Rural Police is learnt to have received a serious complaint against certain miscreants that are blackmailing Government officials after impersonating themselves as officials from Chief Minister's (CM's) Grievance Cell.
Startling revelation came to light yesterday when a group of three miscreants visited the office of Director, School Education, Jammu at Muthi area, here and introduced themselves as officials from CM's Grievance Cell. The trio detailed the staff members about certain complaints received by CM's Grievance Cell and further asked to present the details about the working of some Chief Education Officers (CEOs) posted at various districts. They posed themselves in such a manner that even the staff posted at the office of Director School Education got convinced and attended them warmly and started sharing the record files as asked by them.
Sources informed to Early Times that "While Director School Education, GA Qureshi was not available at his office at that time, it was only after the trio hinted of some money transaction to close down the complaint, the staff members doubted the identity of the three persons posing as officials. They just tried to inquire about the working of CM's Grievance Cell".
"Observing that the trio had little information about the working of CM's Grievance Cell, the staff members attempted to raise an alarm. But before, the other employees could gather, the trio managed to escape."
While none of the senior police officers were available for comment in this regard, reliable sources in Police Department confirmed that Domana police station has received a complaint in that regard. "Following complaint," police sources further revealed, "Domana police station has started investigation to ascertain the fact and trace out the miscreants."
