| World Population Fortnight: Sham inaugurates family health mela at IIIM | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 13 : To mark the World Population Fortnight being celebrated from 11th July 2012 to 24th July 2012, a family health mela was organized in the premises of I.I.I.M (RRL Laboratory) Canal road here today in which the Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture Mr. Sham Lal Sharma was the chief guest. Director Health Services Jammu Madhu Khullar, Director NRHM Dr. Yash Pal Sharma, Director Family Welfare T. K. Moza, CMO Jammu Dr. Javed, Drug Controller Satish Gupta, Medical Superintendents Dr. Arun Sharma, Dr. Romesh Gupta, BMOs, doctors, para-medical staff besides members of AWWs, ASHAs and a large number of people belonging to different walks of life attended the function. The function was inaugurated by the Minister by lighting the lamp. Addressing the gathering, the Minister said that small family is a key to prosperous life and asked people to adopt small family norms and provide quality life and education to their children. He said that increasing population is a matter of grave concern and it is vital to generate mass awareness regarding the issue.
