| Lal Singh convenes public darbar | | | Early Times Report
KATHUA, July 13: Parliament Udhampur- Doda constituency Ch Lal Singh today convened a public darbar at Dhar Mahanpur of tehsil Basohli.
Panchs and Sarpanchs of adjoining villages of Dhar Mahanpur apprised the minister with their demands which were mainly related to provision for safe drinking water, uninterrupted power supply and road connectivity in far off panchayats of the area. They also demanded improving the health care facilities in the area.
Ch. Lal Singh while speaking on the occasion said Panchs and Sarpanchs should work in coordination with line departments so that the benefits of the state and center sponsored schemes reach the people. He appealed the people to choose their representative responsible as sound leadership is important for the welfare and development of the people.
He disclosed that he has raised the issue of additional funds for underdeveloped constituencies for the development of isolated and far off areas. He said Panchs and Sarpanchs are empowered to ensure the development of their respective areas, adding they are also entrusted with the responsibility to make the people aware of various schemes for improving their socioeconomic status. He appealed the farmers to come forward and avail credit benefits through Kissan Credit Card schemes. Ex MLA Basohli Kanta Andotra also spoke on the occasion.
