| Pony wallahs clash with CRPF, several injured at Baltal | | |
Srinagar, July 14 : Three Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and eight pony wallahs were injured in a clash at Baltal, base camp of Holy Amarnath cave shrine, in central Kashmir district of Budgam. Official sources said a group of pony wallahs had an argument with CRPF personnel near the drop gate at Baltal after they were not allowed to enter the area. However, when pony wallahs insisted that they should be allowed to enter the area, CRPF personnel allegedly beat them up with lathis and riffle butts. The pony wallahs, also joined by others, pelted stones in which three CRPF personnel were injured. About eight pony wallahs were also injured in the CRPF action, they said. Civil and police officials have rushed to the area to control the situation. This is the second time clash took place between pony wallahs and porters and CRPF personnel since the commencement |
