| 7 expelled BJP MLAs led by Prof Gupta to support Sangma | | | early times report
Jammu, July 14: In an interesting development related to forthcoming Presidential polls and trend of political parties to follow while choosing the candidate, the group of 7 legislators led by Prof Chaman Lal Gupta, who were expelled by the party last year, have decided to go the way their parent organisation BJP will go in supporting PA Sangma.
The 7 MLAs of this group have decided to vote in favour of Sangma for President's post. It was confirmed by Prof Chaman Lal Gupta. Substantiating his point, he said Pranab Mukherjee proved his failure to curb inflation as Finance Minister. This resulted in price rise of essential commodities and other items that has hit hard common masses for over two years now, Prof Gupta said adding that the situation today is such that a common man is unable to arrange square meal for his family.
While lamenting the conduct of the party towards the group, he said leadership has ignored to absolve them from the unfounded charges levlelled against them, something which will prove detrimental for the interests of the party in the long run. |
